Home designed c. 1914 in the Neo-Federal style by architect William Adams for Norton Perkins. It was purchased by Samuel Sloan Auchincloss, Sr. {merchant, financier} shortly after. Auchincloss was a member of the Auchincloss Brothers, NYC textile merchants and a partner of the Auchincloss, Joust & Patrick brokerage firm. Auchincloss also owned an estate named "Shadow Meade" in Garrison, New York.
