 office building, 1979_construction, Modern (architecture)

4-story modernist office building completed in 1979 for New York Transit. It is clad in brown brick, with the lower three floors of the southwest corner cut out and filled by black metal and glass, except for the 4th floor, which has a recessed open-air terrace with the top floors overhanging it. The south face of the glass curtain wall section has five serrated windows per floor, and the wall angles back to follow the path of the street. At the right side of the opening on the south side is a metal roll-down gate on the ground floor and metal vents above. On the west facade, a narrow, 1-window wide bay at the north part of the opening is separated from the four windows (and metal vents between floors) at the south end by a thin brick pier extending down from the top floor. At the east end of the south facade, there is a narrow bay of glass rising above a metal service door.
