184-foot, 16-story Art-Deco cooperative-apartment building completed in 1937. Designed by William M. Dowling, it is clad in off-white brick. Facing Madison Avenue there is a central light court above the ground floor, which is lined with storefronts. The rear wall of the light court has two bays of triple-windows flanked by two bays of shorter single-windows; the side walls have two bays of triple-windows around a middle bay of single-windows. The west-facing north and south wings each have two bays of windows in the middle, with wrap-around windows at the corners. At both wings, limestone piers with leaf capitals extend to the top of the 2nd floor, which has a wide stone band course and a small modillioned cornice across the middle bays.
The north facade on 35th Street spans 12 bays, with wrap-around windows at the corners, the eastern of which is recessed. The next three bays from the east, and the western three bays are very slightly recessed. Of the five center bays, three are wider and the middle one has narrow bathroom windows, up to the 13th floor, where the outer bays set back creating a series of terrace, and the three center bays have single-windows. At the 13th-floor setback, the bays flanking the three center ones have wide, wrap-around triple-windows, and at the 14th floor they angle back at the setbacks. The main entrance is at the middle of this facade, with a green canvas canopy extending onto the sidewalk.
On the west facade, the outer bays of the two wings set back above the 12th floors, and the middle bays set back above the 14th floor. The rear wall of the light court also sets back above the 14th floor. There is a small, 1-story wing that extends to 34th Street, with a storefront clad in black tiles. The building was converted to a cooperative in 1983, with 166 apartments. The ground floor is occupied by Madison Convenience & Vape, Eyes on Madison optical, On Stage costume shop, Pet Central, FedEx Office, and Kosher in Midtown restaurant at the 1-story 33rd Street wing.
