 Neo-Gothic (architecture), apartment building, 1915_construction

163-foot, 12-story Neo-Gothic residential building completed in 1915. Designed by Wallis & Goodwillie as a store-and-loft building, it was converted to apartments in 1979, with 97 units. It is clad in buff-colored brick above a 2-story limestone base, five bays wide.

At the ground floor the three middle bays has modernized storefront, while the end bays have entrances (the eastern one is now also a storefront). The entrances have outlined stone surrounds. The 2nd floor has paired windows in the middle bays, and two smaller, more widely-spaced windows in the end bays, with sloped sills. A broad stone lintel caps the base, with Gothic bracket forms above rosettes at the tops of the piers.

The upper floors have paired windows slightly recessed between the piers in the middle bays, with small stone diamond shapes accenting the spandrels. The end bays again have two more widely-spaced windows, all with stone sills. The outer of the two windows at the end bays are set within a recessed groove that runs up the facade. String courses frame the top and bottom of the 12th floor, above which is a parapet that stair-steps up in the center and at both sides with stone accents. Multiple protruding air-conditioning units dot the facade.

The western elevation is clad in brown brick, with two bays of single-windows near the front. The eastern elevation is also clad in plain brown brick, with a single bay of windows toward the rear. The ground floor is occupied by SolidCore Fitness.
