The Dylan

USA / New Jersey / West New York / Fifth Avenue, 309
 apartment building, 2013_construction

452-foot, 35-story modernist residential building completed in 2013. Designed by Schuman, Lichtenstein, Claman, Efron, the tower is set back from the 1-story base, rising straight up to the roof line. The base has a metal-and-glass storefront on the left side, topped by grey metal panels. On the right, white-painted walls angle back on the sides and top to the recessed entrance.

The tower is clad in a curtain wall of silver-blue glass and grey metal. The west facade, facing the avenue, folds back on itself in the center at a gentle angle. On each side, two bays of metal air-conditioning vents run up the facade. The north and south facades have slightly recessed central areas with the same columns of vents. This center area extends up past the main roof line to the mechanical penthouse on the top. At the rear facade, the southern half is slightly recessed.

The Dylan contains 165 apartment units and has a rooftop deck.
