store / shop, commercial building, roadside attraction
4-story mercantile building completed around 1880. It has a modernized storefront with a large plate-glass show window, and a 2nd floor of red-painted cast-iron with paneled piers framing two end bays and a central 3-over-3 window. The brick upper floors are parged and painted white, with three bays of windows with red-painted stone sills and lintels. A simple red roof cornice caps the facade.
The building and storefront is occupied by Superior Florists which has been in this location since 1940, billing itself as the leading florist in all of New York City. It is managed by third-generation owner, Steve Rosenberg.
