 condominium, 1907_construction

150-foot, 12-story residential building completed in 1907. Designed by Frederick C. Zobel as a commercial loft building, it is clad in limestone, with a 3-story rusticated base. The ground floor has a service entrance on the left, a storefront in the center, and the main entrance at the right end, with a rounded green canopy extending out over the sidewalk. The center of the 2nd floor has a 4-paned center window group, flanked by single-windows, all framed in green cast-iron. The outer bays have double-windows above stone panels bearing the building's address, although the western one is obscured by the prominent beige metal fire escape with rounded landings that snakes its way up the west side of the facade. There are escutcheons with hanging ornament at the tops of the piers at the 2nd floor. A broad stone band separates the 3rd floor, which has five windows in the center section, divided by narrow pilasters. The end bays have stone surrounds.

Above a rounded stone cornice, the upper floors are similarly organized, with five center windows divided by narrow pilasters, and single-window end bays with stone sills. The center section between each floor has green metal spandrels with decorative escutcheons in the middle. The 10th floor is capped by a decorative cornice with a large escutcheon in the center and stylized capitals at the piers. The top floor has round-arched windows with keystones, topped by a paneled roof parapet.

The eastern elevation is clad in plain tan brick with widely spaced bays of windows. The ground floor is occupied by Pen + Brush Art Gallery. The building contains 21 residential units.
