This interchange is comprised of two very closely spaced cloverleafs on Interstate 395 / U.S. Route 1 (Shirley Highway) in Arlington, Virginia near the Pentagon. The southern cloverleaf (Exits 9 & 10A) connects to Boundary Channel Drive and Clark Street via Long Bridge Drive and so serves the Pentagon and the northern end of Crystal City, respectively. This cloverleaf is not completely free-flowing on the minor road: the eastern right turn ramps are missing due to the proximity of Long Bridge Drive and so is served by the loops. The northern cloverleaf (Exits 10A & 10B) connects to George Washington Memorial Parkway. Due to the proximity of the Potomac River and the extremely wide median approaching the 14th Street Bridges, one of the northbound loop ramps is replaced by a semi-directional left exit ramp. Due to the limited spacing between the interchanges, two of the exits (10A & 10B) diverge at a single shared ramp in the northbound direction. The older cloverleaf designs create weaving and low speed merges on the interstate and so collector-distributor roads have been built in a couple of locations.
