neighbourhood, NRHP - National Register of Historic Places, draw only border, historic district
The Aurora Highlands neighborhood of Arlington is made up of single family homes and duplexes, generally modest construction from the first half of the 20th century. The northern two-thirds of Aurora Highlands (everything north of 26th Street South) is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) as a historic district. Development began just before the turn of the century, and growth was spurred on by the arrival of commuter railways, buses and personal automobile transportation. Like many of the residential neighborhoods in Arlington, the popularity of Aurora Highlands originally lay primarily with government workers.
