Taftanaz is situated to the west of Aleppo forty two kilometres and fifteen kilometers to the east of Idleb. Its name means the city of clothes. Tafta means a kind of finest cloth and naz means city in the Aramic ancient language. They discovered three black statues dated around 3000 bc. and they are in the entrance of Aleppo Museum. It is famous for its red earth and plains. Its people cultivate cotton, cereals, and vegetables especially watermelon. Now, there are four primary schools, one prep and one secondary school. There is also an military helicopter airbase near it.
