Tal Rifaat

Tell Rifaat (Arabic: تل رفعت‎, also spelled Tel Rifaat, Tel Rif'at or Tal Rifaat) is a city in northern Aleppo Governorate, northwestern Syria. Located roughly 40 kilometres (25 mi) north of Aleppo, the town is the administrative center of Nahiya Tell Rifaat. Nearby localities include A'zaz to the north, Mare' to the east, Kafr Naya to the south, Deir Jamal and Aqiba to the southwest and Ibbin Samaan to the west.

In the administrative division of the local branch of the "Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria", Tell Rifaat district ("naḥiyah") is mentioned only for the Tal Rifaat town itself and agricultural land in its vicinity, not including any settlement. The the limits of the town itself is often referred to as the "center of the district" ("markaz nahiyah".)
As of 2022, about 21 thousand people live in town, of which only 5 thousand are indigenous residents, and the rest are refugees from Afrin:
