4-story & 3-story residential building originally completed as two separate houses. The corner house was completed in 1834 and designed by an unknown architect. The house at 153 West 10th was completed in 1877 and designed by Thomas H. McAvoy. The two buildings were joined and converted to apartments in the early 1900s, and given a uniform facade of red-painted brick above a stuccoed basement. The windows are crowned by wide stone lintels, and a pair of wooden cornices grace the rooflines.
