4-story residential building completed in 1895 as a rectory for St. Joseph's Church. Designed by George H. Streeton, it reflects the influence of Wilson Eyre, the noted Philadelphia architect, who created quite a vogue for this type of design with its pointed-arch windows and high, central gable. The first floor and basement are faced in smooth brownstone veneer, with red brick above, three bays wide. The rather steep brownstone stoop leads to a doorway with a lantern in the arch, and topped by a small cartouche. A low wall with wrought-iron railing on top fronts the areaway. Additional iron railings top the sidewalls of the stoop, with a gate in front. The building was converted to apartments when the church built a new rectory on Sixth Avenue.
