 apartment building, 1899_construction

5-story residential building completed in 1899. Designed by Quimby & Brown, the ground floor is clad in a darker shade of red brick than the upper floors, and is framed by white-painted stone quoins, with a doorway with a projected entablature supported by modified ionic columns. The middle three floors have a single window on the left (with black-painted, incised lintels), and double casement windows on the right (with brown incised lintels). The 5th floor has three slightly recessed windows set between piers with carved terra-cotta panels, and above a projecting black sill course.

Swags attractively decorate the frieze of the building's deep, modillioned, black roof cornice. A black iron fire escape runs down the right side of the facade. The design of the window lintels is inspired by Federal prototypes. The small stoop and basement areaway have wrought-iron railings.
