A trio of Italianate residential buildings originally completed in 1853 as 3-story townhouses above raised basements. No. 55 retains far more of its original appearance than do Nos. 57 and 59, where basement entrances have replaced the former steep stoop. Nos. 55 & 57 are clad in different shades of red brick, while No. 59 has been smooth-stuccoed, painted off-white. All three have tan smooth-stuccoed basement levels. The top floor is crowned, in each case, by a roof cornice supported by carved console brackets, paired in the center. The paneled fascia board displays a central acanthus motif, flanked on each side by rosettes between the brackets.

The first-floor (former basement level) of Nos. 57-59 is occupied by Kettle of Fish restaurant. The first floor of No. 55 is occupied by Nest Seekers real estate, with 55 Bar in the basement.
