Add category
6-story office building completed in 1884. Designed by John McIntyre as a store, it is clad in dark red brick (with a lighter shade on the ground floor and a cream-colored cast-iron storefront facing Broome Street). It is three bays wide on Broome Street, while the Wooster elevation has double end bays, and five center bays in between. At the ground floor, the end bays and Broome Street side are white cast-iron. The center ground floor windows along Wooster Street are segmental-arched, with brick headers. The residential entrance is at the northern end of this facade, and also surrounded by cast-iron. A stone sill course sets off the upper floors, which alternate square-headed and segmental-arched windows. The piers around the double end bays are slightly projected forward, including at the corbelled roof cornice, which is topped by a metal railing on the south end. A black metal fire escape runs down the two southern middle bays on Wooster. The ground floor is occupied by Vintage New York wine store.
