office building, Victorian Gothic (architecture), 1870s construction
5-story Victorian-Gothic office building completed in 1873. Designed by William A. Potter, it is composed of white-painted cast-iron, four bays wide, with very slender columns on the 2nd-4th floors. The top floor windows are Victorian-arched. The building has a white metal fire escape running down the facade, which is topped by a roof cornice with a triangular pediment. The building is occupied by Indochino menswear and the Puffin Room, an art space opened in 1994.
