 office building, 1870s construction

Three conjoined 5-story cast-iron office buildings completed in 1878. Designed by John B. Snook as a store, it spans through the block to Mercer Street, where it is clad in red brick above a dark-grey cast-iron framed ground floor. The windows on Mercer have flat stone sills and lintels, and there are three red metal fire escapes.

The main Broadway facade also has a dark-grey cast-iron framed ground floor, but with rounded columns instead of pilasters. The upper floors are also cast-iron, painted white, with columns dividing the three sections into six bays, six bays, and three bays. A metal roof cornice caps the facade. The ground floor is anchored by an Old Navy store, and the building also contains a New York Sports Club.
