7-story Neo-Renaissance mercantile building completed in 1871. Designed, financed and built by Joel Richardson with six stories. The seventh was added in 1912. The limestone facade expresses the neo-Renaissance style in its elaborate 2nd-floor pilasters and entablature and its coursed end piers, which flank the cast-iron window enframements and spandrels of the upper floors and support a metal terminal cornice with stone brackets.
Among the building's occupants, typical of the district, were clothing companies, a bakery, and a manufacturer of trunks. The ground floor is currently occupied by Empire Luggage.
