6-story Neo-Grec office building completed in 1882 as a store-and-loft building. Designed by J. Morgan Slade, the facade above the ground floor is faced in red brick with contrasting sandstone trim and is three bays wide. At floors 2-5, the center tripartite bays have window openings separated by black cast-iron columnar mullions. Single square-headed windows flank the center bay. Yellow sandstone sills and carved and incised lintels enhance the window openings. Six smaller windows span the 6th floor. The facade is capped by a sheet-metal cornice whose pediment has been largely removed. The ground floor storefront retains its white-painted cast-iron framing including broad piers, slender colonnettes, and a cornice with rosette ornament. Historic show windows, transoms, and bulkheads with grilles remain.

The Cortlandt Alley elevation is faced in red brick above the ground floor. The windows have historic iron shutters. The double-height base contains black cast-iron piers supporting a sheet-metal cornice. A black metal fire escape covers most of this rear facade.

Early occupants included many dry goods firms. The building currently houses fabric companies and office space, including the New York Table Tennis Foundation. The ground floor is occupied by Empire Apparel shoe store.
