The project restored 11 historic warehouses and built three new buildings on empty lots in the South Street Seaport Historic District.

Historic Front Street is mixed-use infill that restores an entire block of landmark buildings in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge in the South Street Seaport Historic District. Through the project, 11 historic warehouses have been restored and three new, modern buildings have been artfully inserted using contemporary architectural language that respects the neighborhood pattern and references historic features.

The restoration work has preserved 200 years of use while employing green design principles.

The project was very badly affected by the Superstorm Sandy and the buildings are currently being renovated and repaired until at least May 2013.
