 apartment building, 1875_construction

5-story cooperative-apartment building completed in 1875. It is clad in light-grey painted brownstone with a rusticated ground floor. There is a round-arched central entrance with a glass-and-wood door and a red canvas clamshell awning, atop a couple of grey stone steps. To either side is a round-arched window with a keystone and honeycomb-style metal grille.

The upper floors have four bays of single-windows, with projecting, white-painted stone sills and lintels with metal cornices. Air-conditioning vents have been cut below the windows of the outer bays, and there are black wooden exterior shutters at the 2nd floor. A black metal fire escape runs down the middle two bays of the facade, with a full-width landing at the 2nd floor. The building is crowned by a white metal roof cornice with brackets, modillions, dentils, and panels.
