 apartment building, 1989_construction

7-story residential building completed in 1989. One of two permanent supportive housing facilities run by Project Renewal that serve the formerly homeless and the mentally ill, among others.

The building's north (front), south and west facades are clad in red brick with a limestone water table. The north and south sides are four bays wide, with two entrances on 48th Street in the end bays. They have glass-and-metal double-doors, slightly recessed, under green canvas awnings. The two middle bays have paired windows. The 2nd floor has paired windows in all four bays, with a rounded, continuous stone band course across the tops of the windows, and another below them, with a third band course below that, framing metal air-conditioning vents below each window.

The upper floors have square, 2-over-2 windows in each bay, with vents below each one. A rounded stone band courses also runs between the vents and window bases of the 3rd floor. The brick parapet at the roof line is framed by rounded band courses at the top and bottom, with short, paired openings at each bay.

The west elevation has four bays of paired windows at the lower two floors, with only the middle two bays extending up to the upper floors, where the paired windows continue, with metal vents below the outer window in each pair. The band courses from the front facade continue onto this facade, but as flat bands instead of rounded, projecting ones. The roof parapet is also similar.

The rear, south-facing facade has five bays of 2-over-2 windows with metal vents centered below them. A mechanical penthouse is visible on the east side of the roof. The building contains 41 units.
