Edgbaston Mill is a £100 million mixed-use development on former West Midlands Police training land. Consisting of a 200 room Holiday Inn Express hotel, 3,500 sq m (37,664 sq ft) of retail and restaurants, 2,745 sq m (29,500 sq ft) of leisure space and 6,000 sq m (64,500 sq ft) of Grade A office space, it has already seen the completion of a 130 out of 344 apartments proposed for the site.

The first phase was named Hemisphere and was built by Redrow in partnership with Calthorpe Estates, who own the land. Developer Cordwell will develop the remainder of the site.

In late 2009, a planning application was submitted for the construction of a medium-sized Aldi supermarket on the site of the office phase. This is yet to be registered formally as not all of the documents have been submitted to Birmingham City Council. The supermarket will sit adjacent to a new public square, which is currently the site of the sales suite for the Hemisphere development.
