164-foot, 12-story Beaux-Arts cooperative-apartment building completed in 1898. It is clad in limestone and terra-cotta, with a 2-story base and 4-story crown. Two entrances at the end bays have surrounds decorated with rosettes and are topped by cartouches below bracketed cornices; in between is a modern glass storefront. The 2nd floor has a large show-window in the center and single-windows in the end bays. The base is capped by a dentiled cornice above four cartouches - two on either side.
The upper floors have five bays, with the center bays slightly recessed. The outer window bays have stone surrounds with simple circle patterns. At the 3rd, 5th & 7th floors are bracketed pediments above small cartouches, and the 8th floor has circle-decorated surrounds at all five windows, and supports a detailed, bracketed and dentiled cornice.
The 4-story crown has wide fluted pillars around each bay at the 10th-11th floors, which are framed at top and bottom by projecting band courses. The spandrels between the windows at these two floors are decorated by medallions. The top floor has round-arched windows in the middle bays, with keystones. A small parapet caps the roof line.
The south and north elevations are clad in tan brick; there are three bays of windows and a metal chimney pipe at the front of the south elevation, and elevator and equipment bulkheads at the rear. The north elevation has a few windows up to the 9th floor; the top four floors are stuccoed, with five window bays. The end bays have paired windows, and the middle three have triple-windows in metal frames. The center bay at the top floor is a double-height 5-over-3 solarium window rising above the roof line.
The building contains 49 apartments. The ground floor is occupied by 260 Sample Sale, and The One Club advertising organization is on the 2nd floor. This building was used for rooftop shots in the movie Spider-man 2.
