Village Ddeur Kothar
This Place has amazing tourism opportunity but just ignored by authorities. It has budha stupas dated back some 2-3 centuries. Rock Painting, monk caves,Beautiful landscape, Blind tunnel and so on.
I am very much surprise to see this place is laying unexplored.
Buddha Stupas dated 2-3 before Centuries of Maurya era
Deur Kothar Rewa Madhya Pradesh
Buddha Stupas dated some where 2-3 B.C. during Maurya dynasty were discovered at Deur Kothar village near Katra Rewa Madhya Pradesh.
It is situated at deur village around 3.5 kilometers away from Rewa Allahabad Road after Katra. Approach road is narrow but road condition is quite OK in comprision to Garh Katra Road pathetic condition.
One will find a two room building at isolated place very much away from the population. Deprived of basic need of water and other amenities, two person guarding the vast and priceless area of the Buddha Stupas. One small park is being attempting to develop in front of guard house but without proper water supply it is in vain. People visit this area seldom as this has been discovered just one decade away. After getting introduction or permission and visiting resister filling formalities one will be directed towards Stupas area gate made of two bamboo sticks.
It is a divine feeling of walking on the footpath made some where centuries back towards Stupas. After few step you will come across the introductory stone by F.K. Mishra and Ajeet Singh giving very valuable information of the location. From here you will able to see a group of stupas appeared from nowhere will surprise you like any thing. These are incomparable to any where in India. I have visited several places related to Buddha like Sanchi Madhya Pradesh, Sarnath Uttar Pradesh, Bodh Gaya Bihar, Mahabalipuram Tamilnadu, Ajanta , Ellora in Maharastra and few places in Orissa but this site is better than any thing in India. Cluster of Stupas will glide back you to 2-3 centuries B.C. it seems time has stand still there for centuries.
The narrow path leading to Stupa #1 will be telling you a story of time. Every thing is as it is as centuries back. The big dome of Stupa #1 will appear from here will give strength to your tiring feet.
The big Dome like Stupa#1 will give you an impression of depleting brick kiln (Itaa bhatta) and in fact it actually mistaken by villagers as Itta bhatta and priceless bricks of Stupas were dug out by villagers used for their house building. This approach has destroyed several of big stupas but luckily one is little bit safe from their devil negligence hands. Ruins of Stupas #1 itself depict the glory of old era.
Surrounding of the stupa can be covered by foot. Here on can see several caves used for Buddhist monks. Stone Age paintings can also seen by any visitors just few hundreds meter away from Stupa#1.
Panoramic view around the stupa#1 will leave you speech less.
I suggest a must visit to this place for all Rewaeits and others too. Take plenty of water and food supply before going there. You may need umbrella during rain as the area is completely open and you will not find any shelter other than caves around the area. Keep eye on accompanying kids if any, as no fencing or boundary wall has been provided at the sharp drop of valley side.
