HISTORICAL PLACE:Founded in 1765 by FATEH SAHI Maharaja Bahadur of HUSSEPUR{SARAN DIST.}He made Tamkuhi his capital and fought the BRITISH EMPIRE from the jungles around TAMKUHIRAJ.Today it is the headquaters of TAMKUHIRAJ sub-division.There is a big market hospital,schools & colleges &government offices.the raj compound has palaces temples orchards ponds & a old palace. -Rajeshwar Pratap Sahi

    Tamkuhi is a place where you can easily find a variety of vegetables which will go a long way to regain your physique. The weather even in extreme summers remains normal here. It is attractive for for veg eaters as well as non veg eaters. You will find here variety of local fishes like rohu mangur singhi chefuwa and a lot the name of which i do not know but they are so much tasty that i cannot explain. The place is directly connected from Gorakhpur by road and there is train communication which is cheap from tamkuhi road. Overal the place is the best place.
