Sagar is headquarter of two Tehsils namely Sagar and Sagar Nagar.
It's a beautiful city ....looks like a hill station, people here are very sweet and caring ... and have great respect for their motherland.
Sagar, also known as Saugor, is a city in Madhya Pradesh state of central India. It is the administrative seat of Sagar District and Sagar Division. The town is in a picturesque situation on a spur of the Vindhya Range, 1758 ft. above sea-level. The town is handsomely built, and is an emporium of trade.

The city also has an Army Cantonment and its own city hospital. Sagar is also known as a hub of Hindi poets of national and international repute.

Sagar is also called the city of lakes. The official language(s) spoken in the city is Hindi while English is also widely used. The dominant religion is Hindu.
Some very good places of interests in and around Sagar are - Rahatgarh Waterfalls, Garhphra Mountains and Temples, Khimlasa Forts etc. Sagar city is also developing into an industrial area and many new industries are setting up in the city. Sagar also has its own hospital and medical research centre called Bhagyoday Tirth. Thus the city is known as the Heart of Madhya Pradesh. Sagar has a very good network of railway system which connects it to major cities in india. The nearest airport to the city is at Bhopal.

  • Sagar is a historical place because it have its own history like lakha banjara. Many freedom fighter also was born in this city. Now this city looking very good just like a hill station, you can enjoy here every weather. It also having Madhya Pradesh most ancient, prestigious and world famous Dr. Hari Singh Gour University(old name was Sagar University). Now after 2010 it will also have Medical college. Thanks Arvind

  • i m born in sagar.so it is first loveafection with city as birthplace. since 1993 i m in dubai and every day i read the news papers which have news related to sagar. and i update my self with city happings.Every alternate day i see my close friend Dear Shailandra who is now MLA of great city.my only request to all the citizen pl keep our city clean.hope now katra bazar is without ancrochment,without animals,without kachra,without pollutation. cause as i m living in dubai and what i learnt to see the development here that if we want we grow it is first duty of citizen to improve our city first. thanks
