Pazardzhik (Bulgarian: Пазарджик, also spelled as Pazardjik or Pazarjik, from Turkish Pazarcık, literally ″small marketplace″) is a town situated along the banks of the Maritsa river in Bulgaria. It is the capital of Pazardzhik Province and centre for the Pazardzhik municipality.
A 5 centuries as a market center and became an important economic and administrative center. For facilitating this road Sofia-Istanbul-Western Europe, where the city was a road station, and that was turned into a port-stock of the Maritsa river for cereals, rice, wine, wood and iron from the Rhodopes from Samokov. Freight with floats to Istanbul.
The number of local residents is 75 173 (06.2021).
