Second World War 1939-1945, aircraft crash site
Wreck of Lancaster DV 202 (KM-Z) from 44th (Rhodesia) sqn (based at Dunholme Lodge from May 1943 to Sept. 1944) which was shoot down during famous raid on August 18th 1943 and fell right into the Kölpinsee. All seven crewmember were killed.
Captain was P/O R C Reginald Harding RCAF ,from Kirkland lake, Ontario.
