Koszalin was known as Koeslin when it was German. It became part of Poland in 1945 after WW2. It is a city in North West Poland(Western Pomerania)now(inhabitants circa 120000. It is a clean city with large international companies on it's outskirts. It also has a medium size shopping centre to the North and Koszalin has the advantage of being close to the coast (Mielno, Uniescie, Chlopy and Lazy are all served by buses and minibuses) Pope John Paul 2 visited Koszalin in 1991 and his statue looks over Koszalin next to the Cathedral in the main street Zwyciestwa (Victory Street).

    I love Koszalin--it is where my family lives and where my mother grew up after World War II. The city is small, but the area is beautiful--the Baltic is so close and it is most beautiful place to be in the summer.
