Established 1895 by Will Dockery. Eventually encompassed 10,000 acres in the area east of Cleveland, MS. The plantation was a self contained community boasting its own store, churches, workers quarters and even a railroad connection to Cleveland. The plantation is most widely known for the group of Delta blues musicians that passed through and worked here during the period 1900-1940. List includes Charley Patton, Son House, Howlin' Wolf, Tommy Johnson, David "Honeyboy" Edwards, Robert Johnson and many others. Property currently listed on National Registry of Historic Places.
