Southern University and A&M College, Baton Rouge (SUBR) is an historically-black university located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

All Southern University programs are accredited and monitored by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Southern University was originally chartered in 1880 in New Orleans. In 1974 a special session in the Louisiana Legislature established the Southern University System, which consists of:

Southern University Agricultural Center
Southern University, Shreveport (SUSLA, a community college)
