This is a full cloverleaf interchange between Interstate 495 (the Capital Beltway) and Virginia Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) near Tysons Corner. It remained relatively unaffected by the construction of the Express Lanes in the early 2010s, although the exit to Westpark Drive was added. It is directly adjacent to the Tysons Corner Metro Station.
It was originally built in the early 1960s as a partial interchange. Connection between VA-123 south and I-495 south required using nearby VA-7. Ramps were added to facilitate these movements by the late 1970s, including a left turn from northbound Exit 46 to VA-123 south. This left turn was replaced by a loop ramp by the late 1980s.
