Opened in 1967, the 33-story , 407 feet-tall skyscraper was designed by Edward Durrell Stone and was known as the "ITM Building" (International Trade Mart). Until 2011, it was the World Trade Center of New Orleans, housing numerous foreign consulates and the headquarters for the Port of New Orleans. It sat vacant for nearly ten years, until 2018, when work began to convert it to a luxury hotel, which opened in 2021.
