Bella Union (New York City, New York)

USA / New Jersey / West New York / New York City, New York / Third Avenue, 411
 bar, commercial building

3-story commercial building originally completed in 1871 but largely rebuilt in 1925. The exterior was renovated in 2020 from a garish black-and-red theme of paneled cladding to a rustic wood-and-stucco design. The long north elevation has one large 3-over-2 window near the east end on both lower floors, with the ground floor having a pair of smaller double-windows and a couple of secondary entrances. A black metal cornice caps the 2nd floor, with the 3rd floor only extending about halfway from the east end. Roof top terraces are enclosed by wooden fences along both the 2nd & 3rd floors.

The smaller west facade on the avenue has the main entrance on the left, next to a large triple-window. The 2nd floor has a 6-piece set of French windows with a metal railing across the base, and the cornice continuing around from the north side. The building has been occupied by Bella Union bar since 2020, when it replaced Tonic bar.
