A small rural town along the South Eastern Railway, connecting to Rourkela towards east and Jharsuguda towards west and roads going to Kuchinda.
This place is famous for red hot chilly, also called Bamda Mirch all over India. It has Asia's biggest Sisal (Agave sisalana, also called Murba/Murga in local laguage) farm. Spanning over 16 Gram Panchayat, Bamra is one of the largest Block in Orissa.
