Modern 23

USA / New Jersey / Hoboken / West 23rd Street, 350
 condominium  Add category

8-story modernist residential building completed in 2008. Designed by Daniel Goldner Architects, it is clad in black brick, clear glass and perforated metal. The building’s glass frontage is modulated with small, projecting grey balconies and irregularly spaced, narrow, vertical orange strips. Narrow French doors in white metal framing open onto the balconies. The entire composition is neatly and thinly framed in dark masonry.

The ground floor is quite distinctive with a “floating” dark grey masonry component on the east and a white stone façade on the west, both of which flank the entrance's glass door and a large orange window into the lobby. The west half of the 7th floor is set back, with a glass railing at the front. There is a setback at the far east end of the 8th floor and a bold massing of boxes at the top, enclosing mechanical equipment.

The rear façade of the building has balconies and terraces. The building contains 15 condominium units.
