Built for Rufus W. Scott{industrialist}. Colonial Revival modified by R. Barfoot King c. 1925. King transformed a modest farmhouse into a restrained interpretation of Washington's Mount Vernon. Louise Tiffany Taylor, a descendant of Louis C. Tiffany, decorated the interior. Estate contains an octagonal pavilion in the Classical style built as a card room and guest house next to a sunken parterred garden.

Subsequently owned by Edmund Calvert Lynch, Jr {financier} who renamed the estate "Floralyn". Lynch served as a partner of the Merrill, Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Beane (now Merrill Lynch) investment banking firm.

Recently house has been expanded and updated.
