Former "Round Bush" estate designed c. 1917 in the Tudor style by Roger H. Bullard of the firm of Goodwin, Bullard & Woolsey on originally 74 acres of land for Paul Geddes Pennoyer, Sr {attorney, diplomat, statesman}. Pennoyer served as a partner of the A. Iselin & Co. law firm, representative of the United Nations San Francisco Conference in 1945, and was a member of the Secretariat State-War-Navy Committee in 1943. He also was a trustee of the Morgan Library and the New York Hospital. His wife, Frances Tracy Morgan, was the daughter of John Pierpont Morgan, Jr. who resided at "Matinecock Point" in Glen Cove; her brother Junius Spencer Morgan resided at "Apple Trees" in Matinecock and "Salutation" in Glen Cove.

The property was sold upon Mrs. Pennoyer's death in 1989 and the home was razed to become the Matinecock Woods at Glen Cove Development. A 30 acre section of the property now known as Pennoyer Woods was donated to the Nature Conservancy by the Pennoyers. Various outbuildings survive including the stables which were converted into a residence by Mrs. Pennoyer's son Paul and his wife Cecily who made it their family home for about 50 years.
