USA / New York / West Hills /
residence, International Style (architecture) (Bauhaus), modernism, LIGC - Long Island Gold Coast, NRHP - National Register of Historic Places, historic landmark

Estate home designed c. 1930 in the International style by and for Wallace Kirkman Harrison {architect} on originally 17 acres of land. Harrison was a named partner in the firm of Corbett, Harrison & MacMurray and later Harrison & Arbramovitz. He also served as the chief architect for the Rockefeller family, and designed the Metropolitan Opera House, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and Rockefeller Center.

Fernand Léger, who lived here during the World War II, painted a mural on the bottom of a circular swimming pool built with the house and another mural over the living room mantel.

The home is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Town of Huntington local landmark. A sympathetic addition was designed in 2009 by SchappacherWhite Architects.
