Notable past owners: Reverend Andrew Hunter (1813-1902) - important Irish-American early settler of this region of Arkansas who was instrumental in the spread of the Methodist religion. He served in influential positions within the Methodist Church in virtually every region of Arkansas, and was behind efforts to open numerous schools and seminaries throughout the state. Hunter also served as president of the Arkansas State Senate in 1866. This house is the only surviving structure associated with Andrew Hunter.
