"Walnut Farm House" (Asharoken, New York)

Clapboard Victorian farmhouse c. 1856 built for William Beebe. It was purchased in 1862 by Cornelius Henry DeLamater to live in until his house "Vermland" was completed in 1862. In 1876, his daughter Lydia DeLamater Robins and her husband John moved into the house and renamed it "The Robin's Nest". It was then extensively altered from 1876-1884.

Upon the death of DeLamater's wife Ruth, the home was deeded to Lydia who then sold it to her brother-in-law George Hazard Robinson. From 1989-1902, Robinson's daughter Ruth and her husband Harry Donnell used it is as summer home. In 1911, George Hazard Robinson comissioned Harry Donnell to perform extensive alterations.

In 1927, the estate was inherited by Laura Attmore Robinson Donnell who began to subdivide the 14 acre property. It was later owned by Frederick Sandblom, Marcel Emmanuel Vertes, and Lucille Borglum.
