The Keyspan power station in Northport. Known to locals as "the northport stacks" this power plant has been around since 1967. It has 4 generators, 2 burning oil, and 2 burning natural gas. Each outputs 375MW of power. The stacks are 600ft. tall, and are used as a locater in aviation. Originally built by LILCO, it was sold to Keyspan when LIPA was created.

    Unit 1 (northernmost) completed in 1968, unit 2 in 1969, unit 3 in 1973, and unit 4 in 1977. All four units can burn either gas or oil, although unit 3 can only burn up to 50% gas. Other info above appears to be correct.
