Notes: This is one of the best preserved segments of the Butterfield Overland Mail Route in Arkansas. Butterfield Overland Mail was a stagecoach mail and passenger service that operated between the eastern termini of Memphis and St. Louis and their final destination of San Francisco between 1857 and 1861. The road segment’s current designations are Bug Scuffle Road and Owl Cove City Road.
