Manheimer Building

USA / New Jersey / West New York / Seventh Avenue, 369
 commercial building  Add category

4-story Chicago-style mercantile building completed in 1871 with apparent alterations in 1918 by John Knubel. Above the modernized storefront, it is clad in yellow-tan brick trimmed in terra-cotta, with bands of three windows separated by black iron mullions on each floor. Green diamond shapes ornament the spandrels. The facade is crowned by a peaked parapet with a salmon-colored tile coping; a green diamond is inset in the parapet, above a panel reading MANHEIMER BUILDING. On either side is a green shield above the outer piers.

Following the alterations, Manheimer moved his own offices into the building, leasing the ground-floor store and basement.

The ground floor is occupied by a gift shop.
