Former village with large park serving the area in the London Borough of Hounslow today a quite distinctive, street-named district of Greater London bordering the edge of the county as does neighbouring Feltham (the main post town) and Hampton. It contains a mixture of 20th century housing mainly in a neat street layout with front and back gardens as well as a very small and verdant 18th and 19th century conservation area near to its church which adjoins Hanworth Park. Notable features are the River Crane which runs through the northern edge and the Longford River which is a man-made watercourse supplying the free-to-visit Hampton Court Park and Bushy Park water features in Hampton and Teddington. Mid-rise social housing forms some of the south-centre of the area near to Hanworth Park and Hanworth Villa FC, a well supported local football club.

In the south-west of Hanworth are the Kempton Park Waterworks SSSI made up of mixed scrub heath, ditches and wild meadows and a waterworks, a minature steam railway and museum room-filling Victorian steam engine.
