This bridge carries Benning Road Northeast over the Anacostia River and the East Bank Trail. It is a five span, steel beam bridge with concrete deck built in 1934 and reconstructed in 2004. Previously known as Benning's Bridge, it was renamed for the widow of Senator Robert F. Kennedy in 2008.
