Sand Bluff Wind Farm is located in two sections southwest of US Highway 87 northwest of Sterling City, Texas. The larger section is one 'string' of turbines about 1-4 miles from the highway and 22 miles from Sterling City; the smaller section is a string about 1 mile from the highway and 16 miles from Sterling City. Commissioned in 2007, the wind farm consists of 45 Gamesa G87/2000 wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 90 MW.
