 condominium  Add category

154-foot, 14-story modernist residential building completed in 2006. Designed by Garrett Gourlay, it has a rusticated grey stone base. The upper floor are clad in buff-colored stone, with two-thirds of the east (front) facade and half of the south facade wrapped in large sheets of dark stained wood, up to the 10th floor, where there is a setback at the corner. The thin panels are extremely attractive and despite their material appear very high-tech. Indeed, at first glance one is tempted to think they are bronze or aluminum. The north facade is a flat expanse of off-white and grey masonry, scored into a grid of panels. There are no windows, in anticipation of future development on the adjoining to the north. The west facade has balconies on its right side, overlooking the High Line park. The building has 22 condominium units, and roof terrace. The ground floor is occupied by Chelsea Walls gallery, and West Chelsea Contemporary.
